Welcome to PDF Scanner Pro, developed by Pivot Master Apps. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Android application.
PDF Scanner Pro is local-first: all document rendering, editing, conversion, and encryption is performed entirely on your device, and the app works fully without an account. Two optional features do send data off your device, and only when you choose to use them — cloud backup (Section 2.6) and Enhanced OCR (Section 2.7). If you use neither, nothing from your documents leaves your device.
PDF Scanner Pro does not require you to create an account. The app reads the documents you open in order to display, edit, annotate, sign, merge, split, compress, convert, or encrypt them. All of this processing happens entirely on your device. Neither your documents nor the text, images, form data, or signatures inside them are transmitted to us or to any third party unless you turn on one of the optional features described in Sections 2.6 and 2.7.
To improve app performance and diagnose issues, we may collect limited technical data through third-party SDKs:
If you upgrade to PDF Scanner Pro Premium, your purchase is processed entirely through Google Play. We receive confirmation of your purchase status but do not receive or store your payment card details.
We use RevenueCat to keep track of whether your subscription is active, so that Premium works across your devices and is restored correctly after a reinstall. The app sends RevenueCat a purchase identifier and an anonymous app user id; it is not sent your name, your email address, or anything about your documents.
The free version of the app displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data (such as a device advertising ID) to serve personalized or contextual ads. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how AdMob handles data.
Signing in is optional and is not required for any editing feature. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, email address, display name, and profile photo. We use these solely to identify your backups and to apply the daily Enhanced OCR limit to your account. You can sign out at any time, and you can delete your account and everything stored against it — see Section 8.4.
If you sign in and use backup, the PDFs you choose to back up are uploaded to Google Cloud Storage and stored under your account identifier, together with each document's title, page count, file size, and last-modified time. This exists so you can restore your library on another device. Backup is off unless you sign in and use it; documents you never back up are never uploaded. Security rules restrict these files so that only your own signed-in account can read or write them.
The app's ordinary text recognition runs entirely on your device and sends nothing anywhere. Enhanced OCR is a separate, optional premium feature: when you use it, the image of the page being scanned is sent to Google Cloud Vision through our server, which reads the text and returns it to your device. Google does not use these images to train its models and does not retain them after the request is answered. We do not store the page image or the recognised text on our servers — the text is written back into your document on your device. We keep only a per-day counter against your account so the daily usage limit can be applied.
We do not use your data for profiling, sell your data to third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond operating and improving the app.
PDF Scanner Pro requests access to documents on your device so it can open and save PDF files. Depending on your Android version, this is granted either through the system file picker (Storage Access Framework) or through a storage permission. This access is the core function of the app.
When you save changes, export a new file, or delete a document through the app, the operation is performed by the Android system on your device's own storage. Temporary working files the app creates during an operation are written to the app's private cache and removed when the operation completes or when you clear the app's cache.
If you open a password-protected PDF or apply password protection to one, the password is used in memory on your device solely to decrypt or encrypt that document. We do not store, log, or transmit document passwords, and we have no ability to recover a password you have lost.
The app asks for two permissions, each at the moment the feature that needs it is used. Declining one disables only that feature.
The app requests no broad storage permission: files are opened and saved through Android's own file picker.

However, no method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
You can revoke PDF Scanner Pro's file access at any time in your device Settings → Apps → PDF Scanner Pro → Permissions. Without file access the core viewing and editing features will not function.
You can opt out of personalized ads by resetting or opting out of your device's advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Firebase Analytics respects the device-level "Opt out of Ads Personalization" setting. You can also disable analytics collection by contacting us at pivotmasterapps@gmail.com.
If you never sign in, we hold no account data about you at all, and uninstalling the app removes everything it stored locally, including its document library and cache.
If you do have an account, you can delete it and everything stored against it — your account record, every backed-up document, their details, and your Enhanced OCR usage counter — from Settings → Delete account inside the app. Deletion is immediate, automatic, and permanent.

PDF Scanner Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Our third-party service providers (Google Firebase, Google Cloud, AdMob and RevenueCat) may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. By using PDF Scanner Pro, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in these countries, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
