Subscription help
I paid but the app still shows ads or locked features
Open the app, go to Settings and use Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed into Google Play with the same account you bought with. If it still does not unlock, email us with the Google Play order number from your receipt.
How do I cancel?
In the Play Store: your profile picture › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › TV Remote for Roku & Fire TV › Cancel subscription. You keep premium until the end of the period you already paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it.
I want a refund
Refunds are issued by Google Play, not by us. Request one at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory within 48 hours of purchase, or email us and we will ask Google on your behalf.
Common questions
Does it need Wi-Fi, or does it use the infrared blaster?
Wi-Fi. Most phones no longer have an infrared blaster, so the app talks to the TV over your local network instead. The phone and the TV must be on the same one.
Why does my Fire TV ask me to allow something?
Fire TV and Android TV publish no remote-control interface, so the app connects the way developers do — which the TV asks you to approve once. You turn on ADB debugging in the TV's developer options, then choose Always allow when the TV asks. Roku needs none of this.
The app found nothing. What now?
Usually the phone is on a different Wi-Fi band or network than the TV, or the router blocks device discovery between clients — guest networks almost always do. Check both are on the same network, then use Enter IP address and type the address shown in your TV's network settings.
The volume buttons do nothing on my Roku stick.
A Roku streaming stick cannot change the television's volume — only a Roku TV can. The app hides those keys when it detects a player rather than a TV, so you should not see them at all.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. Everything happens on your local network between the phone and the TV. An internet connection is only used to show ads in the free version.
Can it see what I watch?
No. The app sends button presses to your TV and reads the list of installed apps so it can show you shortcuts. It does not read what is playing, and nothing about your TV leaves your network.

See the privacy policy for what the app collects, and delete your account to remove everything stored with it.
