1. Introduction
Math Knight ("the app") is a maths adventure game for children, published by Pivot Master Apps ("we", "us") on Google Play (Android) and on
the App Store (iPhone and iPad) as com.pivotmasterapps.mathknight. This policy explains what information the app
handles, what leaves the device and what does not, and the choices parents have.
No ads. No advertising ID. No accounts. Nothing about your child leaves the phone.
2. What the app collects
"Collects" means information that leaves the device. Everything else happens only on the phone and is described in section 3.
| Information | When | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purchase-screen events (anonymous) Android only | When the purchase screen is opened, and when a purchase starts, completes or is cancelled | To understand how Math Knight Pro is chosen | Google Firebase Analytics |
| Crash logs and diagnostics Android only | When the app crashes | To find and fix crashes | Google Firebase Crashlytics |
| Purchase status | When a parent buys Math Knight Pro | To unlock the full game | Google Play or the App Store |
On iPhone and iPad the app contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or other third-party software at all; nothing about your child leaves the device. The purchase itself is handled by Apple. (If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports.)
On Android, the analytics events are anonymous and are only about the purchase screen: they carry an app-instance identifier, the device model, Android and app version and coarse region - never the child's name, age, answers or anything about how the game is played. The app turns off Google Analytics' advertising features (no ad-personalisation signals, no advertising-ID collection).
What the app never collects
- The child's name, age or anything typed into the app
- Answers, scores, stars or progress
- The advertising ID (the app removes the permission for it)
- Name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location
- Voice or audio of any kind - the app never uses the microphone
3. What stays on the device
The optional hero name, the child's age, the skills chosen for practice, game progress, stars, unlocked characters and settings (music, sounds, read-aloud, relaxed mode, language) are saved only in the app's private storage on the phone. They are never uploaded and are removed when the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared.
Read-aloud speaks questions for children who cannot read yet, with a recorded voice for the chosen language. The app downloads that language's recordings from our own file storage (hosted on Google Cloud Storage): a plain file download that carries no identifier and nothing about the child - like any download, the server sees the device's IP address only to deliver the file. Until the recordings are downloaded, the device's own text-to-speech engine reads; the app hands it only the sentence to be spoken.
4. Advertising
The app shows no advertising of any kind and does not use the advertising ID.
5. Purchases and the parental gate
The first kingdom is free. The full game is unlocked with Math Knight Pro - a monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase - sold through Google Play or the App Store; we never see or store payment details. Buying, managing subscriptions and following links out of the app are placed behind a parental gate - a question a young child cannot answer - so that purchases are made by a grown-up.
6. Children
Math Knight is designed for children, and we treat everyone who uses it as a child. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children: the app has no accounts, no chat, no user-generated content shared with others, no ads and no advertising ID, and the personal details a parent enters (such as a first name) never leave the device. The analytics and crash reporting described in section 2 are anonymous, used only to run and improve the app, and never used for advertising or profiling. This is how we meet the requirements of the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR (including its rules for children), Google Play's Families policy and the App Store's Kids Category rules.
A parent can clear everything the app stored at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it, and can contact us about anything in this policy.
7. Third-party services
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics), Android only - anonymous purchase-screen events and crash reports (privacy policy)
- Google Play Billing - processes purchases on Android (privacy policy)
- Google Cloud Storage - hosts the recorded voices the app downloads (no identifiers are sent)
- Apple App Store - processes purchases on iPhone and iPad (privacy policy)
We do not sell information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes.
8. Retention and security
Analytics events are kept for 14 months (the Google Analytics default) and crash reports for 90 days. Everything the app saves on the phone stays there until the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared. All communication with these services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
9. Your rights
You may ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of any information we hold. Because the app keeps personal details only on the device, uninstalling it deletes them. If you are in the EEA or the UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority. Write to pivotmasterapps@gmail.com; we answer within 30 days.
10. International transfers
Google operates globally, so anonymous analytics and crash reports may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under Google's standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
11. Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever the app changes what it does with information, and change the "last updated" date above.
